This song is from The Roots 2010 album of the same name and was used on the film Night Catches Us, which The Roots scored.

The Roots are playing at The Novo in Los Angeles with special guests T.I., The Internet, and more on Saturday June 25th, 2016. This is part of the BET Experience, which has numerous paid and free events all weekend at LA Live.

The Roots- You Got Me ft. Erykah Badu

This Grammy Award winning song from 1999 is from The Roots fourth studio album Things Fall Apart. Musician Jill Scott co-wrote the song and recorded vocals for it but because she was still relatively unknown the label MCA Records insisted on replacing her with Erykah Badu. The rapper Eve also performs on the track.

As part of the BET Experience, The Roots will be at Club Nokia on Saturday 6/27 to present Dilla, a tribute to the producer J Dilla, with Erykah Badu.

Method Man- All I Need (featuring Mary J. Blige)

This song from 1995 sampled Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “You’re All I Need to Get By”. Mary J. Blige is performing on Sunday at the Staples Center as part of the BET Experience (6/27-6/29).  Some of the other artists in the three day concert series include- A$AP Rocky, Jill Scott, Maxwell, Outkast, The Roots and Method Man .
