Hammer Museum is hosting a reading/performance of Bryan Doerries Theater of War for Veteran’s Day. Michael Imperioli, Heather Goldenhersh, Riley Shanahan and Doerries will perform readings of Sophocles’s Ajax, “the ancient Greek play about the suicide of a great warrior, as a catalyst for a powerful public discussion about suicide, combat stress, and alcohol and substance abuse in the military community”. There will be a discussion afterwards. (free)

Lara Schnitger returns to the Hammer Museum to further explore feminist speech with filmmaker Kerri Koch who will screen her work- Don’t Need You: A Herstory of Riot Grrrl,  followed by a screening of Inez Milholland: Forward Into Light, a short film by Martha Wheelock. There will also be a talk on contemporary witchcraft and a closing ceremony by Amanda Yates Garcia, the Oracle of Los Angeles.

Seth MacFarlane is hosting The Grove Christmas which includes a live musical performance, the lighting of the Christmas tree, and a fireworks finale (free)
