For the poetry reading for Tender Omnibus at LACMA, some of the authors included will read work from the volume of landmark texts chronicling the first 25 years of Tender Buttons Press

Natural History Museum is having its First Friday event with Car Seat Headrest performing along with Night Beats

Martin Starr (Silicon Valley, Party Down) is one of the judges and is playing with his band as part of Literary Death Match at the Ace Hotel. For the match itself four writers read their work (for seven minutes or less) and then are judged and reduced to a final two who compete in a literary game. New Yorker staff writer Susan Orlean is one of the writers participating this time.

Skirball is having an afternoon of poetry readings for the anthology Wide Awake: Poets of Los Angeles and Beyond, with actor Wes Bentley, contributors Erika Ayón, liz gonzález, Ron Koertge, and Florence Weinberger presenting poems from the collection. Afterword poets Lynn Emanuel (Then, Suddenly), David Lazar (The Body of Brooklyn), and Tim Seibles (Fast Animal) will read from their respective works.
