At Zebulon from 2-4pm there will be a performance by Modular Soundbath with visuals by Vinyl Williams plus tarot readers and reiki ($5 suggested)

ENTRANCE is playing at Resident with Weyes Blood and Lael Neale

John Doe & Exene Cervenka are playing at the Regent Theater with special guest Howe Gelb

Eli Detweiler, Jr., a livestock and auto auctioneer, will perform a high-speed auctioneer chant and lead an informal workshop in auctioneer number-calling at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA . Detweiler is featured in Doug Aitken’s 1998 installation these restless minds which is part of the MOCA exhibition Doug Aitken: Electric Earth. (MOCA entrance and this program are free)

Cosmonauts are having an album release party at the Echoplex with Cellars and Tomorrows Tulips also playing

As part of Doll Parts, the continuing film series at The Broad that complements the Cindy Sherman exhibit, artist Lynn Hershman Leeson’s electronic video diary Binge will be shown along with the work of performance artist Narcissister, who will also perform live ($12 includes night access to the museum)

Clockshop is hosting Readings by Moonrise at the Bowtie Project in Frogtown with authors A-lan Holt and Dana Johnson and a performance by Nevenka, an Eastern European folk ensemble ($5 suggested donation- s’mores will be provided but you can bring your own picnic items)

Local Natives are playing the Greek Theatre with special guest Charlotte Day Wilson

For the last of LA Zoo’s Roaring Nights the theme is the ’80s with tributes to David Bowie and Prince, as well as food, drinks, vintage video games, and “special animal encounters”

Kraftwerk’s 3-D concert series is at the Hollywood Bowl

The Regent Theater is celebrating the work of Kenneth Anger with a screening of The Invocation of My Demon Brother, Scorpio Rising, Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome, and Lucifer Rising. Following the screening, Kenneth Anger and Brian Butler will perform as the Technicolor Skull. The evening will conclude with a Q&A.

Long Beach’s Comic Con is back for its second and final day

Manfredi Gioacchini has a new book of informal portraits of LA artists and will be discussing it with Jonas Wood at LACMA
