The Rentals- Friends of P.

This song is from The Rentals’ 1995 debut album The Return of the Rentals.  The band, formed by former Weezer bassist Matt Sharp, released their first full length album in 15 years, Lost in Alphaville, last August.  The video below is the first track off that album and takes place around downtown Los Angeles.

The Rentals are on tour and are playing the El Rey Theater Friday June 5th.

Luscious Jackson- Naked Eye

Luscious Jackson formed in 1991 and were the first band on the Beastie Boys label Grand Royal. Kate Schellenbach, their drummer, had played with the Beastie Boys from 1981 to 1984. The song Naked Eye, off their 1996 album Fever In Fever Out, was the band’s biggest hit. They have recently reunited after breaking up in 2000, and are playing at the El Rey on Friday, May 30th.
