Hammer chief curator Connie Butler will be discussing Marisa Merz’s work at the Hammer, followed by a screening of artist Tacita Dean’s short film of Merz’s husband Mario Merz and a discussion with Dean (free)

At MOCA Grand Avenue, assistant curator Lanka Tattersall will be leading a walk through of Patrick Staff: Weed Killer at 6pm, and at 7pm author S. Løchlann Jain will be discussing Staff’s work and the subject of cancer, which she wrote a book about (free)

It’s LA Pride and there are events from 6/9-6/11 including LGBT Night at Dodger Stadium (Friday), LA Pride Festival in WeHo (Saturday has Chromeo, ILOVEMAKONNEN and Young M.A. among the performers, and Sunday has Brandy and Lil Mo) and this year instead of the traditional parade there will be the Resist March to coincide with the National Equality March for Unity and Pride in Washington DC.
